About IN the Parks
The IN the Parks podcast blends interviews and narration to draw out the major stories and themes of our state parks. My goal is to connect each park’s history with our own personal experiences and make the park come alive in a new way.
Each episode provides an overview of the park’s features while diving deeper into the people and communities that shape it. I’ve interviewed over a hundred people who are invested in our state parks, from property managers and interpretive naturalists to volunteers and visitors. Indiana DNR has been supportive and engaged with the podcast since its creation. We share a love for nature and want to see more people in the parks!
About the Podcaster
I’m Allison, an English teacher with a marketing background who was born and raised in Indianapolis. I combined my life-long love of storytelling with my various professional experiences to create a podcast that celebrates Indiana. I love highlighting the people and places that shape a community. If I can get middle schoolers interested in poetry, then hopefully I can get you excited to discover Indiana’s history!
